The trip gave us an excuse to return to some of the most beautiful Lao cedis and to discover some new temples as well. Phra That Renu Nakhon, a little south of Nakhon Phanom, enshrines sacred sculptures and golden Buddha images. Although it appears ancient, it was built in 1918.
