Dorothy and Jennie in Sri Lanka

| On Sunday, August 18, Mike and Rushma held a gala ceremony and reception at the Grand Kandyan Hotel. Jennie wanted to try wearilng a sari, so Lily dressed her, and she glowed. Many people that they had met during their stay were there. We had to take Dorothy and Jennie to Negombo that afternoon for their early morning return flight, so we could not stay for the entire affair. they had come up to Kandy during the wee hours of the morning, so it was important that they go down during the day to enjoy the magnificent view. On the evening of August 16, Mike and Rushma had held another reception at a different hotel,where the couple and their parents were escorted in with bagpipes, and the Navy band plalyed a polka, but Jennie and Dorothy did not attend that one. At the hotel in Negombo, as he had promised, Ken gave his infamous rendition of "Bad Rabbit." Dorothy and Jennie had a wonderful time in Sri Lanka, and we certainly immensely enjoyed their visit, but, like all good things, it is "Here today, and gone tomorrow!" | |||||||||||||||||||||||
