| Anathapidika asked Buddha how people could pay their respects to him when he was absent. Buddha suggested that they could place their offerings at a Bodhi Tree. A seed was brought from the Bodhi Tree at Bodhgaya. Anathapidika offered it to Buddha, and Ananda planted it.
