1. Wordsearch
This puzzle contains many words which are useful in discussing discrimination and prejudice. All the letters are used. Page 2 is a story illustrating prejudice with an ironic twist. It is included as page 2 so that, if the file is printed double-sided, the word list in not on the back of the puzzle. All the words in the puzzle are used in the sentences on the succeeding pages.
2.. What is race?
Page 1 is a questionnaire to find out what the students think about race. Page 2 is an entry from Buddhism A to Z stating that the Buddha declared that, among humans, there was only one race.
This article explains how Buddhists helped and saved Muslim families during the riots in Kandy, March 2018. It is a stirring lesson in non-discrimination in a dangerously discriminatory situation.
